All those who come into contact with children through their everyday work whether paid or voluntary have a duty to safeguarding and promote the welfare of children. We are committed to safeguarding and meeting the needs of our children and we hope this page provides some useful advice and information when working with children at George Dixon Academy.
Here at George Dixon Academy, we like to help and support our families as much as possible. Whilst we celebrate the achievements of our students, we know that this takes sacrifice and dedication from their families and guardians too. We also recognise that families may need support from time to time. We have an Academy Social Worker who is happy to provide advice and guidance for families regarding housing, finances, mental health, counselling or other concerns you may have about your child or their peers. If you are not ready to ask for support just yet, you can contact Birmingham Childrens Trust on 0121 303 1888, or go to https://the-waitingroom.org/ for advice and signposting.
George Dixon Academy has a safeguarding policy which is available with our advice leaflet below. Hard copies of the safeguarding advice leaflet are available in main reception. No child should suffer harm, either at home or at the academy. Everyone who works at our academy has a responsibility to make sure that all young people are safe.
