We are committed to safeguarding and meeting the needs of our children and we hope this page provides some useful advice and information when working with children at George Dixon Academy.
At our school, we help and support our families as much as possible. Whilst we celebrate the achievements of our students, we know that this takes sacrifice and dedication from our families too. We also recognise that families may need support from time to time. We have a Child & Family Advocate who provides advice and guidance for families regarding housing, finance, mental health, counselling or other concerns families may have about their child or their peers. If families are not ready to ask for support directly, contact can be made with Birmingham Childrens' Trust on 0121 303 1888, or go to https://the-waitingroom.org/ for advice and signposting.
George Dixon Academy has a safeguarding policy which is available with our advice leaflet below. Hard copies of the safeguarding advice leaflet are available in main reception. No child should suffer harm, either at home or at school. Everyone who works at GDA has a responsibility to make sure that all young people are safe.
