At George Dixon Academy, we believe in offering help and support at the earliest opportunity for our children and families. This comes in many different forms of support.

At George Dixon Academy, we offer:

- Internal counselling
- Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)
- SAFE Mentoring
- Social Skills programme with off-site learning (SAFE)
- Uniform support
- Bus pass support
- Flexible use of the minibus to support attendance or safety
- 1:1 tailored support with school social worker
- regular 'check-ins' with key staff member
- Early Help assessments for a targeted response
- Housing letters of support
- support with PIP, DLA, Universal Credit and other applications
- liaison with the STICK team for mental health support
- Duke of Edinburgh award
- Attendance focus groups with targeted support
- liaison with the Early Help connectors about support in your area
- identified safe spaces for SEN or vulnerable children
We work as flexibly with our families as possible and are able to visit you at home if you are unable to come in to school to speak with us.
Early Help Offer!
As part of the Early Help support within Birmingham, you can get support with housing, finances, parenting classes, and much more. This is available through school (speak to a member of the safeguarding team), but you can also self-refer for this support using the below link and clicking "self-identification":
You can also access your Family Hub for Edgbaston at Doddington Children's Centre, Woodgate, B32 4EL for advice and support for children from ages 0-17.
